Never in a straight line

WHILE ABS-CBN was screening thousands of young showbiz hopefuls for Batch 7 of its Star Circle talent search in 1999, there was an unnamed photo of a stunningly beautiful 15-year old girl that was submitted to Talent Center, but there was no contact information anywhere on the photo. As fate would have it, just a few days before the Batch was launched on the channel’s foremost weekend show ASAP, the girl showed up, brought by her gracious mother. Dusky, doe-eyed, smart and witty, the girl came to be known as Desiree del Valle, and the same year, she was cast in the highly-rating weekend drama Tabing Ilog, alongside John Lloyd Cruz, Patrick Garcia, Baron Geisler, Kaye Abad and Jodi Sta.Maria.
